Tiara! Tiara! Tiara!
Jamie Mordaunt
I wrote a piece back in June (slightly tongue-in-cheek) in which I posed the question: ‘Tiaras – classy or chavvy?‘
My post in June generated a few comments – which were very welcome, as always. At the time I was wondering whether to feature tiaras in the diamondthrills jewellery collection, and I came down against the idea because I wasn’t sure that there would be much demand for tiaras.
That conclusion was somewhat borne out by our diamondthrills research in which we asked people what sort of piece they would consider hiring. Here are the results to that question:

As you can see from the chart, the popular pieces are necklaces/pendants, earrings, and bracelets/bangles: 65% to 89% of people who answered this question chose these categories (the percentages add up to more than 100% because people could pick more than one category).
By contrast, tiaras attracted about a third of the vote – significant perhaps, but trailing a long way behind the other categories. [Incidentally, you can take the same survey by clicking on this link - it'll only take a few moments.]
So we focused on the most popular three categories and put tiaras to one side, along with rings, brooches and anything else that we hadn’t thought of.
But over the last few months we have had several requests for tiaras, and we can also see from our website statistics that people are actively seeking to hire tiaras.
Mostly people want to rent a tiara as bridal jewellery for a forthcoming wedding, but we have also had interest in hiring tiaras for smart charity balls.
OK. So we’ve been thinking about how to respond to this demand and we’ve managed to secure a spectacular tiara which we expect to be able to make available very soon. Here it is:

How does that look?
The tiara is made of white gold and is set with more than 9 carats of high quality diamonds (E-F-G colour and VS clarity). It really is quite a piece of jewellery.
We need to finalise a few things, then get it photographed and incorporate it into the website – all of which will take some time.
But if you like the look of it and you’ve got some occasion coming up where you would like to be crowned by this stunning diamond tiara then get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.
How much? Well, this is quite an exceptional piece, but we want to make it available at a special hire price of £385 for any hire period of up to a week (including time for delivery and return).
PS – my exclamatory headline to this post is an oblique and completely irrelevant reference to a great movie.
